Mobile Fleet Operations Manager
Our Client provides a full range of solutions to enable Total Fleet Mobility including Contract Hire of bespoke commercial vehicles, Short term rental and Fleet Management. We have customers from across the spectrum including small fleet customers up to multivehicle fleets of 100 plus. We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Fleet Operations Manager to join our team based at our Head Office in Coventry. Reporting to the Operations Director, the Mobile Fleet Operations Manager plays a key role in ensuring Customer Service Excellence through our 'Workshop on Wheels' service. Operating across the UK, our Mobile Fleet Technician Network provides M&R services at customer locations, ensuring vehicles are safe and on the road while maintaining compliance and customer confidence. The Mobile Fleet Operations Manager will drive quality, cost reduction, and enhanced VOR performance, optimizing productivity, and planning and reporting scheduled and unscheduled work against KPIs. This role also involves direct line management responsibility for a team of Mobile Network Controllers.
General Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all statutory requirements regarding fire, health, safety, and hygiene.
- Participate in cross/multi-skilled training within your department or other departments as deemed appropriate by your manager.
- Carry out any reasonable instruction as directed by a manager or Director.
- Deal with all internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Maintain a high level of dress and appearance adhering to PPE where required.
- Attend any training sessions as requested and adhere to all company regulations.

Job Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Ensure compliance with company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures throughout all locations of responsibility.
- Challenge inappropriate behaviors or conduct in relation to Health and Safety incidents to drive 'best practice' standards throughout the organization.
- Deliver a planned forward schedule of events for daily management.
- Communicate with internal functions to ensure customer and mobile network performance is optimized.
- Operate with a 'lean' methodology of event consolidation to prioritize vehicle uptime.
- Provide and monitor KPI figures.
- Manage the team, including performance appraisals and employee relations matters.
- Direct line management responsibilities for Mobile Network Controllers.
- Encourage and support the development of all employees within the team.

- Labour accuracy (Mobile Technician Time Recording)
- First Time Fix Rate
- Mobile Technician Productivity (Labour Hrs/Travel Time/Over time)
- WIP – Job Processing (time to final cost, close, and invoice)
- Van Stock accuracy
Person Specification (Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience):
- Previous experience managing a team of mobile technicians.
- Technical knowledge of light and heavy goods commercial vehicles and a good understanding of vehicle engineering and road transport law.
- Experience in LCV/HGV Maintenance planning for a large vehicle fleet.
- Previous experience in a customer-focused environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage high volume maintenance & repair events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and integrated computer systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
- Ability to deal with people at all levels professionally.
